Miscarriage
Unfortunately, 1 in 10 pregnancies ends in a miscarriage. This is never caused by activities like intercourse, cycling, or lifting. In most cases, the embryo is not developing properly, and the woman’s body naturally expels it. This is usually accompanied by bright red bleeding. Always let us know if something goes wrong! We may be able to help.
If you experience bleeding early in pregnancy, it doesn’t always mean you’re having a miscarriage. You could also be dealing with implantation bleeding when the embryo attaches to the uterine wall. Only about half of the pregnant women who experience bleeding in the first trimester have a miscarriage. The brochure below provides a detailed explanation of what to expect in the event of a miscarriage.
