Introduction

Whether you want to become pregnant or are already expecting, you are always welcome with us. On this site, you’ll find some information that can help you during your pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period.

I’m Marieke te Dorsthorst, married to Roland and together we have two wonderful daughters: Imke (born in 2003) and Fleur (born in 2007).

After working for a short time as a nurse in psychiatry, I felt the urge to pursue training for the beautiful and independent profession of midwifery. I proudly completed this training in 1996. I then started working as a midwife at the hospital in Breda. But when a position opened up at Fem in 1999, I immediately seized the opportunity.

For me, it is both an honor and a challenge to guide (future) young parents through this beautiful and important period in their lives and to support them in a positive way during childbirth. I find it important to help the expectant mother trust in her own strength.

To provide more complete support to pregnant and new mothers, I completed a coaching course at the Alba Academy in 2019. In 2020, I added training as a birth trauma counselor. In this way, I hope—if needed, through a restorative conversation—to still contribute to a positive birth experience for everyone.

Even better, however, is to start working toward a positive birth experience during pregnancy. A fitting preparation can help with this, for example by creating a personal birth plan or through a training for the pregnant woman and her partner.

With my many years of experience, this is something I have become deeply passionate about. Read more about it at:

In my private life, I enjoy being outdoors, gardening in my (vegetable) garden, cycling, exercising and reading.

My name is Petra van der Tempel, married to Roel and proud mother of Charlotte (born in 2003) and Teun (born in 2005).

Since the age of 11, I knew for sure: I wanted to become a midwife. After completing my training in 2001, the moment finally arrived—I was a midwife! And I’ve never regretted that decision. What could be more beautiful than caring for and being present at the birth of a mother and her child?

Since 2014, I have also been working as an ultrasound technician and I truly enjoy giving expectant parents their first visual introduction to their baby. In 2021, I completed the training to become a homeopathic midwife. I believe homeopathy is a wonderful addition to our profession. In situations where medication may seem like the only solution, I can also offer care in a natural, alternative way for those who prefer it. For more information, see:

I’m Linda van Rooij, proud mother of two sons, Max (born in 2016) and Vik (born in 2019). I live with my two children and my partner Frans in Best, where I was born and raised.

In 2012, I graduated as a midwife and completed my ultrasound training three years later. Since 2015, I’ve been working with great pleasure at Fem, center for women and birth care. Before joining this practice, I worked as a clinical midwife and at another practice in this region. Thanks to this combination of experiences, it quickly became clear to me that my passion lies in working in a primary care midwifery practice.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to become a midwife. I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction and energy from my work. Being present at one of the most special moments in someone’s life and being able to contribute to it remains truly meaningful. I find both professional and personal care very important.

In addition to guidance during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, you can also come to me for contraception. I’ve been placing IUDs for several years and more recently, I’ve also been authorized to insert the Implanon.

You are very welcome and I hope to see you soon.

I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Sanne Joosten, married to Koen and living in Liempde.

My love for midwifery began during my nursing training when I did an internship in the delivery rooms in Ghana. I assisted in a birth there and in that moment, I knew I was born for this. After graduating as a nurse, I started studying at the Midwifery Academy in Amsterdam, where I graduated in 2011. I then worked for three years as a midwife in Haarlem, but after that time, I really wanted to return to my roots in Brabant. I joined this practice in 2014 and have been working here with great passion and joy ever since.

In 2014, I became a mother to our daughter Nine, in 2016 to our son Jip and in 2018 our son Rif joined us. Experiencing it myself was incredibly special and my own births have added an extra dimension to my work.

As your midwife, I will do my best to support you in a way that makes you feel comfortable and confident, helping you experience your pregnancy and birth as naturally as possible, with minimal interventions. I look forward to guiding you on this journey!

Mijn naam is Callas van den Wildenberg. Ik woon al mijn hele leven met veel plezier in het altijd gezellige ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

In early 2023, I graduated from the Midwifery Academy Maastricht. I completed my final internship at Fem, and I was so happy with the experience that after graduating, I immediately started as a permanent substitute at this wonderful practice.

As a midwife, I am involved and always happy to lend a listening ear. I believe it’s important for an expectant mother and her partner to feel heard and well-informed so that they can make conscious choices. I want to explore together what you, as future parents, are experiencing, going through, and what you need, in order to provide the best tailored care.

In my spare time, I love traveling the world in search of beautiful places. I’m passionate about cooking and good food, taking lovely walks in nature, or exploring the city to find the best coffee spots!

My name is Fleur van Osch. I live in Sint-Michielsgestel with my husband Mark, our boys Tavi (born in 2013) and Kai (born in 2015), and our two house cats, Aapie and Frummel. Starting in April 2024, I will be supporting the wonderful team at Fem as a practice assistant. Before this, I worked for over 20 years in childcare. For 8 of those years, I worked as an educational assistant in the baby group, after which I grew into the role of manager. At the end of last year, I decided to make a change and look for a job that better fits my personal situation. In addition to my work at Fem, I run a small practice for NEI coaching from home and I’m a baby massage instructor. In my free time, we enjoy taking weekend trips with the family, playing games with friends, exploring nature with the family, or watching a good movie.

Working as an assistant in midwifery care is new to me, and although everything is a bit exciting and takes some getting used to, I am really looking forward to getting started. You can find me on Monday mornings, Wednesday mornings, and Thursday mornings, as well as in the afternoon/evening during Centering Pregnancy, where I will be present as a co-assistant.

I look forward to meeting you!
