The intake

The first meeting, the intake, lasts 30-40 minutes. To guide you as effectively as possible during the pregnancy, we will ask you various questions. We will also explain our approach, provide information about potential tests, and if we have discussed it beforehand, we will perform an initial ultrasound. Of course, you will have plenty of time to ask questions!

For good guidance, it is important that we have as complete a picture as possible of the health of you as prospective parents, as well as any brothers, sisters, and other family members. To ensure that you have all this information, we ask you to fill out the questionnaire we sent and return it to us. This way, we can complete everything in a timely manner and look into any specific issues for you.

To make it easier for you to come together for the intake, we hold the intake consultation two to three times a month on Wednesday evenings. And of course, we try to combine this appointment with the first ultrasound, so you can experience that special moment together.

If you would like more information about prenatal screening, the NIPT, or the first trimester ultrasound (13-week scan), we ask you to read this brochure and take a look at: www.onderzoekvanmijnongeborenkind.nl

During the first meeting, if desired, we will schedule a new appointment to provide more information about this.

Briefly:

Starting from 11 weeks of pregnancy, you can choose to have the NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Test) done. By taking a blood sample from the expectant mother, we can detect small fragments of the baby’s DNA and examine them for conditions such as Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome and Patau syndrome.
